Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda finishes eighth place at 2014 MAVTV 500
"With how we started the weekend... you know, we started nowhere, and we finished P8 and with a good pace. I had one problem in one of my stints; I had to stop in the middle of the stint, so that cost us a lot of positions. Anyways, I'm really happy with the car, with the finish, a top 10 in the championship (unofficial). As I said before, I was really worried coming into the race because we were nowhere, and then suddenly during the race, the Cinsay car was perfect for me. I felt the grip, finally, during the race; when you have a good car, when you feel strong, you move up."
On clinching Rookie of the Year:
"First of all I want to wish (Mikhail) Aleshin a speedy recovery. As a rookie this year, I think it was the strongest rookie field IndyCar ever had. In general, we had the podiums and everything and that was great, and that's why I feel really nice to be Rookie of the Year. As I said before, the competition this year was really tough. I'm just really happy; this is just the beginning, hopefully, of my career in IndyCar for many years. It's always nice to have this honor in your resume. I think we finished the season strong, so I'm happy."

Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda finishes 19th place at Grand Prix Sonoma
- • Series freshman became entangled in the Lap 1 incident but was seen as high as second before coming to the twin checkers in the 19th position after losing pace
- • Heads into the season finale ninth in the points fight, first in the rookie championship points standings
"Another race to forget. Again I was involved in the little confusion at the start, and it cost me a lot of positions. After that, our strategy unfortunately didn't pay off at all. It's really hard to pass here, and it was just an awful day after that mistake. We have to rebuild for Fontana and finish the championship in a good position."

Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda finishes fourth place at 2014 Honda Indy 200
- • Colombian was seen as high as second and made his way across the finish line in fourth place
- • 22-year-old's finish matches his only finish at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (fourth in Indy Lights, 2013)
- • Highest finishing rookie and maintains his position as first in the rookie championship fight
"I think it's a great finish since that first corner when Tony (Kanaan) spun around - I lost a lot of positions. We got them back but we ended up losing the third position in our last pit stop. I'm really happy with the Cinsay car - it was really fast out there, so I'm happy with fourth. Last year I also finished fourth, in Indy Lights, now I've finished fourth in IndyCar and it's great points for the championship and for my rookie championship. Three more races until the season's finished and each time I'm more and more comfortable."
Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda finishes seventeenth place at 2014 Honda Indy Toronto Race
- • Series rookie finished this morning's race in the 17th position after becoming involved in the Lap 1 incident and replacing a front wing.
- • Colombian made his way off the grid for today's second race in the standing start from the sixth position
- • Incurred a drive-thru penalty for unnecessary service in a closed pit lane
- • Was forced to retire early from Race Two on the streets of Toronto in the 17th position after experiencing an unconfirmed failure in the No. 34 machine
"What can I say? That was an awful race for us. Everything (bad) that could, happened to is. First, the drive-thru penalty, and then just the way someone crossed me and took my wing off. That was not my race. We were not lucky when they opened and closed the pits so quickly; I thought we made it in, but then we found out we didn't. In the end, I couldn't finish the race because of electrical or mechanical problems, so that's that."
Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda finishes twelfth place at 2014 Iowa Corn Indy 300 Race
- • Rookie crossed the finish line in the 12th position after starting fifth.
- • Maintains the top spot in the rookie championship (unofficial)
"It was a really long night for us. The car just wasn't there, I don't really know what happened. Also, I don't think I was 100% myself. We finished in the 12th position - it's a really bad night, bad race for us. Now I'm just focusing ahead on Toronto."
- • Today's third-place result marks the Colombian's second podium finish in a 500-mile race (Indy, 2013) and back-to-back event podiums.
- • Moves up one place in the Verizon IndyCar Series points standings and remains the highest ranked rookie
"I'm happy with today's race... the car was good when I was on my own. This track, it's really hard to pass, to be behind the cars. I think third place is a great result for the championship, especially with the double points; I'm really happy with a podium. It was a long race, and I think that this time, I raced like a veteran. My Cinsay crew guys did such a great job, great pit stops, and I'm happy with another podium.”
- • Colombian was shown as high as third position and finished the 70-lap race in eighth
- • Maintains the highest ranked rookie position in points in sixth
"For this race I was a little bit frustrated because I think we had more than eighth position; our strategy was not optimal, and we were losing positions in pit lane. I think we had enough to finish in the top four. Maybe we weren't in the fight for the win because the two first cars were really quick, but we gained good points. This race was really just about surviving, it is a shame. Today brought more experience for me, and I am feeling more comfortable and making less mistakes."
- • Started Race One from P11 and finished in seventh
- • Fought back from a front wing change on Lap 17 showing him in P18
- • Series rookie was seen as high as fourth place
"We finished the race seventh; I think it was great points for the championship especially after we had to come in to change the front wing. I think I improved a lot, line-wise, too. Hopefully we'll have better luck with the yellow flags and the safety cars during Race Two. I'm really happy with the good points, especially with the rookie championship, so tomorrow is another day!"
"I think we were missing a little bit of speed to get a win. Before I got in the car, I said that I'd be happy no matter the result if I gave it my all, and I think I gave everything I had. I think fourth brings us good points for the championship. I have two starts at the 500 - one second and one fourth-place finish. I'm very happy for Ryan (Hunter-Reay); finally the team won the 500 after many years of being right there. I think we won as a team because everyone worked together to win together. I'm definitely happy for him - he's a great guy, he's been here for a long time, so hopefully it will be my turn soon."
A spin following first pit stop brought left front suspension damage to No. 34 car Cinsay crew repaired the car and put Munoz back on track for eight laps.
"We had just put on the slick Firestone tires on and I don't know. Everything happened so fast, but I just stepped on the throttle, and I don't know... I spun around and couldn't do anything. I don't think we went to slick tires too soon - everyone was on them at that point. Maybe I made a mistake and was too aggressive. Thank you to my Cinsay Andretti Autosport crew for working hard to get me back out to run a few more laps." Read More
"It was a really good race. I'm really happy with a third-place finish for the Cinsay/AndrettiTV team. It was a great finish in the last few laps. My crew did an awesome job on pit stops and have to thank everyone for giving me such a great car." Read More
"Our race was good until I crashed on the front straight; I'm don't really know what happened, a guy in front of me wrecked and then I couldn't really do anything about it. I think I was doing quite good before staying in the top 10 looking forward to a top-10 finish. It's racing. I learned a lot today, but it's just a shame I couldn't do much after the crash. Thanks to my Cinsay crew for working hard all weekend." Read More
